In addition, look for the roaming characters, the bounce house, the gun fights, the hay rides, the fast draw contest, the cannon fire, the trackless train, the kiddie games, watch the Civil War reenactments, drop by the Civil War Medical Tent for a look at surgical operation reenactments, take a cemetery tour, come and enjoy the Chautauqua, take a carriage ride, and much more. Check the schedules for Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a complete list of scheduled activities. Other activities will take place randomly all three days.
Ok, so what the heck is a Chautauqua? The Chautauqua brought entertainment and culture for the whole community, with speakers, teachers, musicians, entertainers, preachers and specialists of the day. The first Chautauqua was organized in 1874. For more information, go here.
Visit the Chautauqua Tent (see the daily schedules) for loads of fun. Enjoy Country singers and period actors. It's fun for all!
